Religion worse than violence?

So there's a storm brewing over the MPAA's decision to rate a "Christian" movie PG instead of G because of "religious themes." So now the ever-intelligent members of Congress are getting involved. Here's a quote from Rep. Blunt: "This incident raises the disquieting possibility that the MPAA considers exposure to Christian themes more dangerous for children than exposure to gratuitous sex and violence."

Huh?

Since when has a movie been rated only PG for "gratuitous sex" or "gratuitous violence"? If they'd rated the film NC-17 then I think he'd be onto something...
